A quick question for you. Did you have brain fog along with your symtoms? I had bad brain fog for quite a while. It had subsided for a good period of time, but the last couple of days it is back again.

I was researching thyroid problems and adrenal fatigue online and stumpled across an article that had a description of symptoms and what people fell like that have these problems.

The thing that stuck out the most to me was that it mentioned that people with this condition don't typically feel awake and alert until after 10:00am, and don't fully alert and awake until after lunchtime. I have felt like for I can't remember how long.

Symptoms include:
•excessive fatigue and exhaustion
•non-refreshing sleep (you get sufficient hours of sleep, but wake fatigued)
•overwhelmed by or unable to cope with stressors
•feeling rundown or overwhelmed
•craving salty and sweet foods
•you feel most energetic in the evening •

•low stamina, slow to recover from exercise

I am going to go back to my endo dr and see if we look at the adrenal fatigue or thyroid problem as the cause. This guy is pretty open minded, so I don't think he will be offended that I want to look at one particular thing as the possible cause.

Interesting i have similar issue. Over the range free t4 and high t3 but not really at the top of range.

I too thought that perhaps my adrenals would be the reason for not converting properly but i have low cortisol. Think i read that low cortisol or atleast weak adrenals would cause low t3 conversion. High cortisol might be the beggining of weak adrenals but i dident think that was the reason for bad t3 conversion.

Hmm have to get some facts (if possible) on this.

I had horrible brain fog 23/7
It let up at one point for a day then returned. I remember how happy I was when it lifted but was devistated when it came back soon.
I was constantly tired. Hypersensitve to any meds, supplements foods etc
The brain fog seemed to lift not long after I started on armour and isocort

I checked out that site you ordered the Armour from and as my luck would have it they are sold out right now, I assume that site doesn't require a script. I can't seem to find a site that doesn't find a script for it. Man I hate the US medical system. Hopefully that site will get more soon.

For what its worth, lately i have cut sugar, caffine and alcohol out of my diet. Of course i still have sugar, but i no longer buy cans of soft drink or chocolate bars. My brain fog lifted almost entirely, and im talking for weeks at a time. About two weeks ago i had a total bender on alcohol. My friends and i drank almost 2 cartons of beer between us (3 people). Day after i felt a bit funny, then the next day i was hit by horrible brain fog which lasted over a week. The day it returned i sat on the bus, absolutely fuming and annoyed, and decided no more alcohol for me. Its only just gone away. For the last 4 or so days i feel what i can only explain as normal. My brain is with me again, no anxiety etc. Not only that, my libido, while certianlly not amazing is having some strange stirrings. It is so amazing to feel calm and normal, im not kidding in saying i haven't felt like this in 10 years.

Anway, around the time i had the brain fog episode i also had a uni assignment, so unfortunately stress is definately a confounding variable. Still, i can attest that stress and or alcohol are a definate contributor to feeling like shit!

I cut out the alcohol, sugar and caffeine as well, it seemed to help a little but the brain fog was still very bad. I also stopped eating red meat. It seemed all the pleasures in my life were cut out but made little difference

Yeah, the US medical system really sucks. I can attest to that. Maybe not if you have loads of money for good doctors etc.
They have some other thyroid supplements that are similar to armour. Armour is a brand but I have tried other brands when armour wasnt available that worked just as well.
Give it a try, youve got nothing to lose and a life to gain back!

I did the same 2 years ago or more. Its night and day. No sugar no alcohol sux but its so worth it! I do drink and tolerate coffein tho.

Also stress is the only factor besides food that i have pinned down. Before xmas i get bad again then abit into xmas and after im fine. Dunno why i get so stressed about xmas but i do.

Common thread, no sugar, caffeine, or alcohol for me either. Extending this is bread.

hey mitch did u experience any form of prostatitis, in ur bad times were u able to urinate properly, was there any discomfort in prostate, were ur erections not as full as they used to be. also did u ever try taking warm baths?

No, cant remember if I ever took warm baths but I did have a jacuzzi at the time, does that count???
My erections were crap most of the time, maybe once in a great while they were not too bad but not normal.
I never experienced and discomfort in the prostate or problems urinating.

I just had my thyroid tested and while the endo dr said I don't have a problem my number looks low. He only tested for T4 it came back
1.0 (.9-1.8)

For whatever reason, he didn't test for my T3. I guess I need to see that to really determine if I have a thyroid problem.

I googled thyroid problems, side effects. WTF, I have almost all of these.
