i started using fin about a month ago, i went to my gp and he sent me to see a hair specialist who eagerly told me to go on finasteride. He did not mention any long term effects, but i had heard about long term effects and he said he had never heard of them. so i happily took the pill until i started to have testicle pain and was harder to get an erection after a few days of this i stopped. After i stopped thats when things really got bad i started to have really strange panic attacks and was now even harder to get hard. however after about 4 days i made a full recovery. But about 2 weeks after this i woke up and it once again was really hard to get an erection and my anxiety came back somewhat but this could have been from worying about the sides comming back. its been about 6 days since my crash and i might have improved a little but not much.can 12 days really do this much damage. Do i have pfs i really hope i dont after reading some of the horror stories. I'm really scared that i will never get my full sexual function back which mind you was great could stay hard for hours if nessacary. Im in my final year at school and this is stressing me out please help!

i guess what im asking is if you have a "crash" does that mean that you have pfs. or is there cases of people crashing then making a natural recovery

please i really need to know where i stand does a crash constitute pfs?

Nobody can answer that question, some people here didn't even have a drastic crash, I did, and yes I still have severe finasteride issues more than a year later.

But it sounds like your not even sure you have it, if your not sure you have it odds are you either have a very mild case or not any at all.

yes possibly but im worried about having another crash, i masterbated today and now my balls are hurting and i have pretty bad lower back pain and having trouble pooing are these bad sighns of a crash in the near future. What are some methods diet etc to avoid crashing.

my symtoms like back pain and ed are still there and new ones have arised like blurry eyes. But what is the chance of symtoms like brain fog developing or am i safe after about a month?

Dude, did you see what I said? Nobody can answer you, because NOBODY KNOWS. No doctors know, no scientists know this "condition" or disease (I think disease is more appropriate) is totally novel and there is little to ZERO understanding of it at this time. 99% of the knowledge on this site is purely speculation, based on observations and test evidence that really doesn't correlate to anything in known medical science. We put together a few theories some of which make sense, we have some tests you can do that correlate with the condition that most seem to share. And I stress most, because not everyone has these same results.

Here's what I can say:

Go get your 3-Alpha Diol-G tested (look it up) 19/20 of us on here who had it tested came up below normal range low. Its a androgen metabolite, you can get others tested too through urine there are a few of them listed elsewhere on this site.

Go get your cortisol and REVERSE T3 tested, make certain it is REVERSE T3 and not just T3. Many of us also seem to have either over top high or really low cortisol (once again, no correlation) and many of us seem to have HIGH Reverse T3.

There are some other tests like vitamin D many people seem to come up low on, I havent had that one tested because after I saw my 3-Adiol-G, cortisol, and RT3 fucked up I pretty much didn't need anymore evidence that something messed up was going on.

You can and should get your testosterone/free and total done too, DHT, LH/FSH don't hurt either but some guys on here like myself have fine testosterone and still have horrible side effects. 844 (250-1000) total test myself last time I tested and I have zero libido, "thats pretty unusual as one doctor put it".

Even if everything comes back "in range" make sure you get copies for yourself to show us here, for instance you may come back with 275 total testosterone and your doc may say "oh your fine, your in range" Well, sorry but most docs are fucking idiots in that regard, they don't realize (or care) the ranges are lifetime ranges, meaning 275 might be ok for a 85 year old but it sure as hell isn't normal or more importantly healthy for a 20-30 year old.

On a side note, your not alone man. There's not many of us but we're not as rare as say progeria. My balls hurt almost everyday too, and they shrunk up a lot, scrotum is tight almost all the time, my junk is totally messed up and been this way awhile such that I can barely remember what it used to look/be like. I had bad mental sides and still have some of them, nothing seems like its worth doing anymore. My liver would ache whenever I had more then a drink or two of alcohol so I gave that up. My sperm count is now low, donno if I will be able to ever have kids. My shit comes out something like the consistancy of pudding or fudge and I'm constipated a lot... lol sorry to be so descript but I think you get my point not much humor around here after all.

This is really a life devestating condition, not just erectile dysfunction like the vast majority of the known world is seeing it as. People on the outside act like its a problem, what is really is, in my opinion is a chronic, horrible disease. It doesn't just take your sex life from you for those of us who get hit hard enough by it, it takes everything. Everything you are as a person it destroys and deforms so that you are basically a shadow of your former self and it is all consuming. I've pretty much lost everything I have because of it, I still have my parents, brothers and relatives thou, and a few close friends.

I apologize if you find me long winded but I wanted to cover more of it so as to clear up any misunderstandings. If you have any questions, much can be found using the search. EDIT: One more thing, if it seems you do have the disease be wary of the posted recoveries, or treatments you may see posted around here. Take them with a grain of salt, many have tried many ways to cure themselves almost none if any have succeeded.

just like to report in and say that im 100% back to normal about a month and a bit of, i'm so happy and greatful to be back to my former self

A thank you to all that bothered to reply to your post would be more appropriate. I am glad you feel better. I sometimes wonder as I have read other sites posts it wouldn't take much for a company as big as Merck to throw in the odd member to say how they they went back to normal, to make us all look like hypochondriacs, I would not be surprised.

In my opinion, Merck absolutely has their people creeping around this site.

Has been happening daily and for a long time. If you post something inconsistent, even accidently, expect it to be deftly twisted by the most ruthless legal team money can buy to try to shed doubt on your story.

They are not entitled to our identities on here, are they? I am sure we are entitled to our privacy, arent we? How can this site be involved in our legal case?
