"The prostate gland also benefits from nettle root. In Germany, nettle root has been used as a treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlargement of the prostate gland) for decades. A metabolite of testosterone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT) stimulates prostate growth, leading to enlargement. Nettle root inhibits the binding of DHT to attachment sites on the prostate membrane.

Nettle extracts also inhibit enzymes such as 5 alpha reductase that cause testosterone to convert to DHT. It is the DHT metabolite of testosterone that is known to cause benign prostate enlargement, excess facial hair and hair loss at the top of the head. "

Is this bad? I see nettle is mentioned and this product are in the natural ways to combat test loss. I didnt see it say anything about Nettle inhibiting DHT thou. Does this act the same way that propecia does? Could someone more informed fill me in? All the other ingredients seem good but the nettle scares me.

I was thinking about taking this along with Tribulus.

Otherwise I think Tribulus, maca and Chrysin. Anyone think this would be too much to take? The reason I want to add Chrysin is so my estrogen levels wont get to high while taking Tribulus. Thanks

Stinging nettle is one of a man's worst nightmares. DHT is very important to male sexual health. nettle is a very powerful anti dht herb. Stay away from nettle. If you're having any issues from enlarged prostate, its likely you are suffering from estrogen dominance. Regardless of whehter its from too much estrogne or too much dht, the herb vitex agnus castus will correct virtually any enlarged prostate via its ability to comletely balance the body's hormone profile. Atleast 400mg, no more than 800mg/day before bed, and the prostate problem will be gone in no time.
Maca is high in sterols and fatty acids, which wipe out dht. Chrysin has a negative impact in thyroid function.
Take vitex at night and tribulus in the morning and you should be good. Vitamin C is also a great way to keep aromatase in check.
