RECOVERY SECTION POSTING GUIDELINES:

- All posts in this section are reviewed, and require Moderator or Administrator approval before they get published.

NOTE: Inclusion in the Recoveries section does NOT mean the Admins endorse or advocate any listed stories/treatment protocols as a "cure" for persistent side effects. Readers understand and acknowledge the Admins have no way to verify the complete authenticity of posted information, and should evaluate all content on their own terms and at their own risk.

-----

The Recovery section is meant to feature:

1. Final ~90-100% recovered stories of longterm sufferers (6-12+ months, or many years) who experienced the Post-Finasteride Syndrome

2. Outline in detail how/what treatments they undertook (preferably via what doctors) to return to their pre-Finasteride state

3. Posters should have little to no setbacks/relapses for at least 4+ months (to be sure any improvements are not temporary), prior to posting of recovery claims

Details:

- Long-time Propeciahelp.com Member Stories that provide a detailed history and note longterm, sustained recovery from the drug's effects (ie, updates many months or years after quitting, noting sustained recovery with no relapse for at least 4+ months via detailed treatment protocols) are eligible for inclusion in this section.

- Posts that are clearly NON-LONGTERM recoveries (ie, relapse within the recovery thread, natural recovery within expected "Merck" timeframe, or members who have updated other threads on the forum noting they have relapsed) will be merged with the users' Member Story to maintain post history, or moved to the appropriate section.

---------------

WHAT THE RECOVERY SECTION IS NOT MEANT TO BE:

1. New users joining the site to post natural recovery stories SHORTLY AFTER QUITTING Finasteride (ie, within a few weeks/early months), stating they have recovered from all side effects, as is SUPPOSED to happen per the manufacturer's claims. While these posts may be inspiring, unfortunately they provide little help in terms of treatment options for those suffering from ongoing, longterm and persistent side effects (ie 6-12+ months, or many years -- the general target demographic of Propeciahelp.com).

2. Longterm members posting what are essentially TEMPORARY improvements/extensions of their Member Story (treatment attempts). Unfortunately, sometimes a few weeks or months after short-term improvements, some note they have relapsed back towards their original Post-Finasteride Syndrome state within their initial "recovery" thread. Thus, by their own admission these users have not yet recovered 100% -- instead, their recovery threads reflect their ATTEMPTS to recover from the drug (ie, Member Story), vs. a sustained, long term, PERMANENT recovery (preferably YEARS) from Finasteride. Posting recovery claims only to backtrack a few weeks/months later is confusing and makes it difficult to track each member's true recovery progress after quitting the drug (did they or didn't they?), especially when updates are spread across multiple threads throughout the site.

3. New users posting spam, unscientific claims and quackery theories/snakeoil "cures". This section has been a target for spammers and those with ulterior motives, who have no prior post history on the forum, who sometimes join to post links to websites selling products, push crackpot theories with no scientific basis, troll other users by playing with their emotions/posting fake testimonials, advocate dangerous self medicating advice/recovery methods, and other potentially dangerous behaviours. Nobody wants to be duped, waste their time, money or be given false hope, or potentially put their health at risk -- thus, suspicious posts will be moved or removed.

The above issues reflect a need to closely monitor the type of content in this section, as certain types of posts are misleading to readers and do not provide an accurate representation of users' (hopefully final) outcomes.
