Hey guys. Hope everyone who is suffering from post-fin syndrome like i am is hanging in there and hanging on to hope.

I wanted to ask if anyone suffering has any experience with taking wellbutrin to help restore some feeling of libido? Wellbutrin is often times prescribed to people who suffer from sexual side effects of anti-depressants. It raises dopamine levels in the brain which can lead to increased sexual desire and function. In fact, many cases have shown that people are far more interested in sex while taking wellbutrin then they ever were before taking it.

My depression due to my problem is raging strong. I am considering trying wellbutrin because it helps with depression and helps with sexual problems.

Anyone have any experience?

Thanks guys.

I've been on Wellbutrin for a few months. It might help me cope a bit better but has done nothing for my libido.

I am currently on Wellbutrin for two weeks. It has done nothing for my libido, senation of penis or erection. However, I can better cope with the bad situation and I can better focus on my daily life/work.

I'm wondering if we can bump this thread. Has anyone else recently seen positive effects from wellbutrin? From the searches I've done it seems like there are positive effects but they dwindle pretty quick. I'm supposed to start a new job within the next week or so which will require a lot of me physically and mentally and I'm worried that I won't even be able to make it through the days. I finally went back to my doctor and he prescribed this. I'm at the point where I am willing to try anything. Thoughts?

Hi, I'm also considering Wellbutrin.

There are some references from others about a PFS sufferer who got much worse on Wellbutrin. Can anyone remember his name or know of the message string? I'd like to read that.

Also, in terms of negative side effects for those of you who tried it, besides insomnia were there any others?

im about two weeks into wellbutrin. the first week and a half were pure hell. i feel like things actually got worse (though i didn't even think it possible). and then three days ago... something happened. and i feel the best i've felt since this all started. not tired. able to focus. able to think straight. i won't celebrate any sort of victory prematurely but i will say that this is helping me right now. i just hope it sustains.

insomnia is a side effect - but aren't we all suffering insomnia from propecia anyway? it didn't make it worse for me.

one thing that did get worse was the tinnitus. ringing in the ears. in fact during that week and a half i couldn't believe how horrible it was. it's gotten better but is still present. but i'll take it if i can keep feeling this way.

ONE THING THOUGH: libido increased for me. sexual function did not. in fact - it may have gotten slightly worse. but at this point - all i care about are the mental sides.
