My prostate is painful most days - I obviously have a problem. Bearing in mind the doubts over conventional treatment by a urologist ie why this treatment is Kos is seen as the only option - is it worth getting referred or will any treatment only make things worse long term?

Wait until a few more of the guys in Greece are finished with treatment. It will literally only be 1-2 months before there are definite answers there. What you could do in the meantime is try to get a diagnosis? maybe try to get a transrectal ultrasound in the UK?
